WHAT WE LOVE:
Truly rare and very special, this Zenith was never released publicly for sale and is one of 6 known examples. This model never left its prototyping stage as Zenith was in relative turmoil at the time of its production and, like an ageing musician was desperate to come up with a new hit. Powered by a 146 Calibre manual wind chronograph movement, this watch was also one of the first PVD-coated Swiss Chronograph models.
The authenticity of this piece and its prototype status has been confirmed by the heritage department of Zenith who also mentioned that this prototype served as the inspiration for the ‘Shadow Revival’ Chronomaster model.
Zenith is a brand that is going from strength to strength and interest in these vintage models is steadily growing. Zenith carries one of the 6 known prototypes in their museum in Switzerland, where the model we offer ends up, we can only begin to speculate.
