WHAT WE LOVE:

The Tudor Black Bay Heritage Ref. 79230N is the watch that helped re-establish Tudor as a force in modern watchmaking — paying tribute to the brand’s vintage dive watches of the 1950s and ’60s while integrating 21st-century build quality and an in-house movement.

The 41mm stainless steel case is robust but balanced, with polished chamfers and brushed finishing that echo early Tudor Submariners. The black aluminium bezel insert with red triangle pip offers a vintage-correct nod to the original ref. 7922, while the large unguarded crown and domed sapphire crystal further reinforce its heritage cues. The matte black dial features oversized snowflake hands and gilt-style printing, creating warmth and contrast that collectors love.

WHAT’S INSIDE:

Inside is the Tudor Caliber MT5602, an in-house COSC-certified automatic movement with a 70-hour power reserve, silicon balance spring, and free-sprung balance. It’s a thoroughly modern calibre built for reliability and accuracy. 

The watch has also had a Tudor service in 2025.
