WHAT WE LOVE:
One of the rarer watches we're likely to get our hands on here at FIVEFORTYFIVE, not a single one of these Lemania watches were intended for Civilian use, they were all made for military personnel. In mid-1979 the South African Airforce placed an order for 800 watches from Lemania, they were delivered in two batches of 400 pieces each and all had arrived by late 1980. However by the late 1980s, they had lost their utility and were replaced by more modern Seikos, the Lemanias in use were recalled, destroyed or discarded. The remaining Lemanias that hadn't yet been issued were sold to SAAF ground staff. It is very uncertain how many of these remain in circulation, but it is safe to say they are very uncommon.
