WHAT WE LOVE:

The Seiko 7002-7001 is a rugged, no-nonsense dive watch that embodies everything collectors love about vintage Seiko divers: reliability, utility, and unmistakable style. Produced during the late 1980s through to the mid-1990s, this model served as the successor to the 6309 and predecessor to the legendary SKX line — making it a key link in Seiko’s professional diving lineage.

This particular example features a Pepsi bezel — the iconic red-and-blue combination that adds vibrant contrast to the utilitarian design. The 41mm stainless steel case retains the classic cushion-style silhouette with recessed crown at 4 o’clock, giving it both wrist comfort and visual balance. The matte black dial is clean and legible, with large luminous indices and hands that have aged beautifully on many examples.

WHAT’S INSIDE:

Powering the watch is the Seiko Caliber 7002, a 17-jewel automatic movement introduced in 1988. It beats at 21,600 vph, features a date function at 3 o’clock, and is known for its simplicity and durability — though it lacks hand-winding or hacking functions. This movement was designed for low-maintenance use and still holds up well in properly serviced examples today.
