WHAT WE LOVE:
There is a particular kind of watch that the 1960s produced better than any other era — and this Zenith is a near-perfect example of it. Small, warm, entirely jewellery-like, and utterly unconcerned with trends that have not yet happened.
The case is circular and petite, mounted within a polished rose gold tone surround and connected to the mesh bracelet via a pair of characteristically 1960s teardrop-shaped lugs. The dial is silver-white and gently domed, with printed Arabic numerals in a clean, legible typeface that reads as quietly confident rather than decorative. The applied minute track at the outer edge, the gold-toned dauphine hands, and the discreet ZENITH signature at 12 o'clock are all present in exactly the right proportion. On the wrist, the total effect is of warmth, quality, and a restraint that contemporary design often aspires to but rarely achieves.
WHAT'S INSIDE:
This Zenith is powered by a Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement — the standard for ladies' dress watches of this period.
