WHAT WE LOVE:
The Tudor Black Bay 58 Ref. 79030N is widely considered the sweet spot in Tudor’s modern lineup — a watch that captures the spirit of 1950s dive watches in a slim, perfectly proportioned 39mm case. Released in 2021, this black-and-gilt version continues to be one of the most beloved variations thanks to its warm vintage-inspired palette, domed crystal, and elegantly balanced dial.
What sets the 58 apart is its wearability: the 39mm diameter, slim 11.9mm thickness, and curved lugs make it feel incredibly natural on the wrist — a huge step down in bulk from earlier Black Bay models. The black dial is accented by gilt text and gold-tone hands/markers, giving it a warmth that’s reminiscent of early Rolex Submariners but with Tudor’s own character.
WHAT'S INSIDE:
Under the hood is the Tudor Manufacture Caliber MT5402, a COSC-certified automatic movement with 70 hours of power reserve, a free-sprung balance, and a silicon hairspring for improved resistance to magnetism and shock. The closed steel caseback keeps things solid and true to its tool roots.
