There are very few watches in production today that carry the word "banana" in their name with complete justification — and the Tissot Heritage Banana is one of them. The name refers to the case itself: a curved rectangular form, bowed along its length to follow the natural arc of the wrist, developed by Tissot in the 1970s in response to the decade's prevailing appetite for watches that sat closer, flatter, and more elegantly against the body than conventional flat cases allowed.

The Centenary Edition takes that original design and marks 100 years of Tissot's banana-case tradition with a rose gold PVD coating that transforms the stainless steel case into something distinctly warmer and more dressed than the standard polished steel version. The curving 49mm × 27mm rectangular profile — which sounds large until you understand that the 49mm is measured along the curve of the case rather than across a flat plane — sits against the wrist with a slim 7mm profile that is genuinely exceptional for a watch of this visual presence. With its large oversized numerals it's an easy watch to love!
