The Tissot PRX is a modern Swiss masterclass watch, especially at its price point. It is the watch that brought the integrated-bracelet, 1970s sport-watch aesthetic that had been commanding premiums elsewhere in the market to a genuinely accessible price. The original PRX case debuted in 1978, and its relaunch in 2021 and the subsequent expansion into the Powermatic 80 automatic variants demonstrated exactly how much demand had been building for a well-made Swiss automatic in this specific design language.
The green waffle dial is of the best dials in the PRX range — the raised textured pattern catching light differently at every angle, turning what would be a flat green surface into something with genuine depth and movement. Against the tonneau-shaped stainless steel case with its integrated bracelet — the continuous line from lug to bracelet that makes integrated-bracelet sport watches so visually satisfying — the green reads as confident and contemporary without being loud. The quick-release bracelet system, the 80-hour power reserve, and the exhibition caseback put the PRX's value proposition well ahead of comparable watches at twice its retail price. At 10.90mm thin, it disappears under a sleeve with ease.
