WHAT WE LOVE:
Jack Heuer named the Carrera in 1963 after the Carrera Panamericana — a road race across Mexico widely considered the most dangerous motorsport event ever held. The chronograph he designed around it was built for the driver's wrist: clean, legible, uncluttered. The Calibre 16 Day-Date on the silver dial is the version of that brief the collector consensus has consistently rewarded.
The silver dial gives the Carrera a versatility the black cannot quite match — cream-toned in certain lights, bright and crisp in others — while losing nothing in legibility. Bold Arabic numerals, three concentric grey sub-dials, a day-date double window at 3, blue hands and indices with Super-LumiNova fill, and red pusher tips are everything the dial needs and nothing it doesn't. On the three-link steel bracelet at 43mm, this is a complete Swiss sport chronograph with genuine motorsport lineage.
WHAT’S INSIDE:
The CV2A11 is powered by TAG Heuer's Calibre 16 — an automatic chronograph movement based on the ETA 7750 architecture, specified and regulated to TAG Heuer's own standard. Twenty-five jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, approximately 42-hour power reserve from automatic winding. The exhibition sapphire caseback reveals the movement directly, and the screwed crown maintains 100-metre water resistance.
