The Seiko Grand Quartz was a decade-long experiment, running from 1975 through 1985, it was at this time that Seiko refined its quartz technology that had brought the Swiss watch industry to its knees. Done with measuring accuracy as variation in seconds per day, the Grand Quartz movements were interested in seconds per year, with these Grand Quartz calibers designed to lose or gain less than ten seconds per year.
