This Seiko Seikomatic Sealion Ref. 8305-1010 from 1966 is a fascinating example of Seiko’s mid-century innovation, produced during a period when the brand was rapidly advancing its automatic watchmaking capabilities. Positioned within the Seikomatic range, this model reflects a step up in refinement and technical ambition compared to standard Seiko offerings of the time.

The case proportions are classic at 37mm in diameter and it is complemented by a clean silver dial with applied indices and a practical date display. Subtle vintage details — from the handset to the dial printing — give the watch a warm character that collectors of 1960s Seiko pieces appreciate. It is mounted to a handmade lizard strap by Jean Richard's of France.
