WHAT WE LOVE:
The GMT-Master 16750 "Pepsi" occupies a specific and irreplaceable position in the GMT-Master's history as the reference that first introduced the Calibre. 3075 — Rolex's first 3000-series movement, and the first GMT-Master movement to offer the quickset date function. Introduced in 1981 as the upgrade to the Ref. 1675, the Ref. 16750 retained the visual character that made the Ref. 1675 a legend while providing a significantly more practical quickset mechanism and a higher beat frequency. The Ref. 16750 was produced for eight years and discontinued in 1988.
The "Pepsi" bezel configuration — the red and blue two-colour aluminium insert — remains the most visually distinctive and most collected of the GMT-Master options. The red half marks the AM hours of the 24-hour scale; the blue half marks PM. On a black dial with white gold surrounds on the hour markers, the Pepsi bezel creates a colour combination of graphic impact. The 40mm Oyster case and bracelet, and 100-metre water resistance complete a watch that represents the last "classic" Pepsi GMT before the model evolved into the GMT-Master II family. Comes with original inner and outer box.
