Rolex - 1961 Airking ‘Gosling’

WHAT WE LOVE:

A few years ago a young actor by the name of Ryan Gosling did something that many thought was impossible; he, a 6-foot tall man wore a 34MM watch in public. This was an act so unspeakably brave that it headlined watch media in the coming days and has become a touchstone for members of the ‘Smaller Watch Movement’ to this day.

The watch that Mr Gosling wore on that evening bares a very close resemblance to the watch we present to you today, the Rolex Airking ‘Gosling’. His watch was a Rolex Airking Super Precision, just as ours is. His watch featured arrowhead indices and ‘alpha’ hands with a blue second hand, another similarity between our watch and Mr Goslings. Our watches differ only slightly, his had patinaed champagne or sand coloured dial and featured an Oyster Bracelet. Ours by contrast is a silvery-white dial and also is on a ‘made in USA’ jubilee bracelet.

Both are very lovely watches to be sure, however, you don’t need to be a movie star to wear ours.
