Rolex has over its history had a collaborative approach with its dealers, whereby the retailer's name would be stamped on the dial along with Rolex. Peter Dick was a watchmaker and retailer in 1889 based in Dunedin, who had the Rolex agency. Curiously, his business still exists today but morphed from watchmaking to optometry with five generations of 'Peter Dicks' at the helm of the business.
