WHAT WE LOVE:

I’ve been really looking forward to bringing this watch to market. The Patek 5035 was the debut model to feature the Annual Calendar complication in 1996. An Annual Calendar retains much of the functionality of the Perpetual Calendar but with far fewer parts which increases reliability and decreases service costs.

The early generation of Patek Philippe Annual Calendars are just now entering the neo-vintage status and interest in this reference is beginning to increase amongst collectors. They have long been some of the best buying watches in the Patek Philippe secondary market, with market prices significantly below the original MSRP.

This particular model has something very special to recommend to a collector and enthusiast with an eye on future market value, the Salmon coloured dial. Salmon, a pinkish hue was popularized in Europe in the mid-1700s, usually in the garb worn by nobility and aristocracy and the colour has retained its status as a signifier of class and elegance.

Patek Philippe has all but reserved this dial colour for its most special watches, it presently only features on one watch in their catalogue, the eye-wateringly complicated and expensive platinum Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 5270.

There appear to be very few examples of the 5035G that we present here, with a Salmon Dial. Price comparison between the other examples currently on the market heavily favours the model we are offering. This is undoubtedly a very rare example of the inaugural Annual Calendar reference and one that we are very proud to present.
