WHAT WE LOVE:

The Panerai Radiomir traces its direct lineage to 1936, when Panerai — then operating as a precision instrument supplier to the Italian Navy — produced the first watches for use by frogmen conducting clandestine underwater operations. The cushion-shaped case, the slender integrated wire lugs, and the large dial with Arabic numerals that a diver could read through a mask at depth are all direct design inheritances from those original military instruments. The PAM01350 is the Tre Giorni ("Three Days") version of the Radiomir — the name referring to the 72-hour power reserve of the P.6000 manufacture calibre inside.

The dégradé beige gradient dial shifts subtly from a lighter cream at the center toward a slightly deeper warm tone toward the dial's periphery — is combined with a sandwich construction: the indices are cut through an upper dial layer to reveal a second layer below, creating the slight three-dimensional recessing that makes each numeral and marker read with both depth and shadow definition. This is a quieter, more introspective dial character than the black-dial Radiomir references, and it suits the patina steel case finish that Panerai applies to the PAM01350: the satin-finished AISI 316L steel takes on a subtle darkened character that suggests age without artificially reproducing it. The Cuoio Toscano dark brown calfskin strap with beige stitching is chosen to complement the dial's warmth tones, completing a combination of materials that is entirely coherent. Water resistance is 100 metres through the crown protection device. Comes as full set with box and papers.
