WHAT WE LOVE:

Nivada Grenchen has built its modern identity around reviving its archive, and the Chronosport Mecaquartz is one of the clearest expressions of that approach. Drawing directly from late 1970s designs, this limited edition feels authentic rather than nostalgic — a proper reinterpretation rather than a reissue.

The black dial with salmon subdials is the defining feature of this Limited Edition. It is a combination that always works, but here it is executed particularly well. The layout is intentionally busy, very much in line with vintage chronographs, but remains legible and easy to use.

On a black leather rally strap, the watch leans even further into its motorsport-inspired aesthetic. It feels period-correct, lightweight, and wearable — a watch that captures vintage character without the compromises that often come with true vintage pieces. 

WHAT’S INSIDE:

At its core is a mecaquartz chronograph movement (Seiko VK67 family), combining quartz timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph module. This allows for the snap-back reset and tactile feel of a mechanical chronograph, while maintaining the reliability and accuracy of quartz.
