WHAT WE LOVE:

In 1984, the year that the Longines Very High Precision ‘VHP’ was introduced was also the year where the sale of quartz watches accounted for 90% of what Longines was producing. The defining feature was its groundbreaking accuracy of 5 seconds variation per year.

This example has had some wear certainly but includes the quite funny and enigmatic caseback inscription of ‘Rig of the year 1992’. Were they referring to a car? A boat? Someone's body? It’s a mystery lost to time now unless another winner of ‘Rig of the year’ will come forward.
