The deep forest green of the dial — a colour that references the Shinshu highlands surrounding the studio where Spring Drive watches are made — sits against a matching green ceramic unidirectional bezel with a 24-hour scale that tracks the second time zone independently of the main time display. The yellow GMT hand with its triangle counterweight is the only warm accent in the composition, and it provides the dual-timezone reference against the bezel scale with the kind of immediate legibility that a sport GMT demands. The dial surface carries sunray brushing that shifts the green from jade to deep malachite depending on the light angle.

Spring Drive achieves its glide-motion seconds hand — the smoothest seconds sweep in watchmaking — through the Tri-synchro Resonator, which regulates the mechanical mainspring's energy output using electromagnetic braking rather than an escapement. The result is ±1 second per day accuracy from a movement powered by a coiled spring, with a 72-hour power reserve. The GMT function on the 9R66 uses a calendar-linked hour adjustment: the local hour hand jumps in one-hour steps without disturbing the minute or seconds hands, preserving the precision of the displayed time across time zone changes.
