WHAT WE LOVE:
The Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date is one of those watches that quietly sits in a category of its own. It does not try to mimic anything else — instead, it leans fully into its identity with a bold, square case and unmistakable German design language.
The blue dial is where this reference really comes to life. It shifts dramatically depending on the light, moving from deep navy to vibrant electric blue, all while maintaining a beautifully balanced chronograph layout. The oversized Panorama Date at 6 o’clock is a signature Glashütte Original feature, and here it integrates seamlessly into the dial without disrupting symmetry.
The case itself is equally compelling. At 40mm x 40mm, it wears differently from traditional round watches — broader, flatter, and more architectural. There is a real sense of presence on the wrist, but it remains refined thanks to the mix of brushed and polished surfaces. It feels distinctly 1970s in inspiration, yet entirely modern in execution — a rare balance that Glashütte Original consistently gets right.
WHAT’S INSIDE:
At its core is the Glashütte Original Calibre 37-02, a fully in-house automatic chronograph movement. It delivers an impressive 70-hour power reserve, while featuring a flyback chronograph, Panorama Date, and power reserve display.
The movement is finished to a high standard, featuring a three-quarter plate, blued screws, bevelled edges, and a skeletonised rotor with a 21k gold oscillation weight, all visible through the exhibition caseback.
