WHAT WE LOVE:
The Bol d'Or Mirabaud is Europe's largest inland sailing regatta, held annually on Lake Geneva — and Girard-Perregaux, as presenting sponsor, produced a dedicated edition of the Sea Hawk Pro to mark the event. This example was produced in a numbered edition of just 69 pieces, referencing the 69th edition of the race in 2008, making this one of the rarest and most specifically documented of all GP Sea Hawk variants. The regatta connection is woven into the dial: the "BOL D'OR MIRABAUD" text circling the lower sub-register at 6 o'clock, the depth rating in red, and the overall nautical character of the large-format 44mm case with its aggressive brushed steel construction and the knurled unidirectional bezel.
The Sea Hawk's defining technical feature is visible on this dial at 6 o'clock: the power reserve indicator ringed in red within the "Bol d'Or Mirabaud" cartouche, alongside the running seconds sub-register at 9 o'clock. The deep blue dial with its large applied luminous Arabic numerals and generous lume fills on the hands is immediately legible and emphatically purpose-designed, and the helium escape valve at 8 o'clock and 1000-metre water resistance rating through a sapphire crystal confirm this as a genuine professional diving instrument rather than a decorative interpretation of dive watch aesthetics. On the black rubber strap, the 44mm case makes a commanding and architecturally confident statement.
