WHAT WE LOVE:
The collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and Ferrari was one of the most refined partnerships between a watchmaker and an automotive legend. Unlike the flashier car-branded watches of the era, the GP Ferrari Chronograph Ref. 4956 is elegant, understated, and technically sound — powered by an in-house movement and built with the same attention to detail as Ferrari’s road cars.
The 38mm case in brushed and polished stainless steel wears beautifully on the wrist, with a Ferrari Prancing Horse at 12 o’clock and bright red chronograph accents on the subdials. This is a watch that quietly nods to its motorsport roots without shouting, and one that still holds up as a dressy sports chronograph with pedigree.
WHAT’S INSIDE:
Beating inside is the Girard-Perregaux Calibre GP2280, an automatic chronograph movement based on the GP3000 family — entirely produced in-house. It offers a smooth sweep, column wheel chronograph function, and a minimum 46-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback.
