Concord - 2017 Mariner Automatic SS/RG

Personally, I think new and old Concord deserves a second look. The company has an impressive history and was an early adopter of the sports watch look with its Mariner line. This Mariner is one of the brand's latest attempts at a comeback and it is lavishly appointed with 18KT Rose Gold through the bezel and bracelet. Measuring a remarkable 8MM thick it is a comfortable and beautiful luxury sports watch that is not very commonly seen.

Concord is a fascinating brand, in the 1970's it was recognised as one of the finest luxury watch brands in the United States thanks to its collaborations with Tiffany and Co, Cartier and Van Cleef, and Arpels. The next 40 years would mark their slow slide in relevance, and while the company was revitalised in 2008 by winning best design of the year at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie, this ultimately was not the kickstart the brand had desperately needed it to be.
