Cartier - 1990 Must de Cartier Tank SM 5057001

WHAT WE LOVE:

The Cartier Ref. 5057001 is the smallest of the Must Tank references, and in many respects the most elegant. At 28mm × 20mm it wears as a compact, discreet ladies' dress watch. The lemon dial with its Roman numerals, railroad-style minute track, and blued steel sword hands presents the Tank in its most classical configuration. The crown is set with a sapphire cabochon in the Cartier tradition.

Coming with its original box and papers transforms this from a beautiful vintage watch into a documented example. Papers for Must Tanks are increasingly scarce — the collection was produced in significant volumes, and original documentation has been separated from most examples through three decades of subsequent ownership.

The 5057001 is powered by Cartier's Calibre 057 — a quartz movement of Swiss manufacture that was Cartier's standard movement for the Must Tank SM throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
