The Breitling Endurance Pro is one of the most interesting watches to have emerged from a major Swiss manufacturer in recent years, and interesting not because it is complicated or expensive, but because it is genuinely rethought.
Developed exclusively by Breitling and manufactured entirely in Switzerland, it is a high-performance polymer that is 3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than stainless steel, which means the 44mm Endurance Pro, despite its sizeable case diameter, weighs just 35.5 grams on the wrist. For context, a comparably sized stainless steel chronograph typically weighs between 150 and 200 grams. The difference is immediately apparent the moment you pick it up, and even more apparent after a long day of wear.
The black dial with green accent details, the central chronograph hand, the strap, the ring detailing, and the crown ribbing all in the same khaki green, is one of the more considered colour combinations in the Endurance Pro range. It is bold enough to make a statement without being loud about it, and the green reads as outdoors and athletic rather than fashion-forward. The bold Arabic numerals, over-scaled at 3, 6, and 9, the pulsometer scale, and the three sub-dials all contribute to a dial that is emphatically a tool first. The date display at 4:30 is a useful everyday detail, and the compass-scale bidirectional bezel extends the watch's utility beyond pure timekeeping.
