WHAT WE LOVE:
Breitling introduced the original Superocean in 1957 — the same year as the Submariner's most influential references — as a purpose-built professional dive watch for the emerging underwater exploration community. The Superocean Heritage is the contemporary expression of that original, drawing specifically on the design language of the late 1950s and early 1960s: the oversized applied triangular hour markers, the broad luminous handset, and the dial architecture that prioritises underwater legibility over decorative complexity. At 44mm, the B20 is the larger of the two Heritage case sizes, and it carries that size with the case architecture of the period reference it draws from.
The bidirectional ratcheted ceramic bezel insert, the cambered sapphire crystal with full AR coating on both surfaces, the screw-locked double-gasketed crown, and 200-metre water resistance complete a specification that is genuinely correct for professional diving use. The solid caseback keeps the watch consistent with the 1950s dive watch heritage it references.
