Since the kickstart of the Alpinist, designed for Japanese mountaineering, it has reached above and beyond its purpose to become one of the most loved Seiko designs there is. This watch packs a huge punch for its small(er) size and reminds the watch world that unique, functional and bold watches are still in the mix!
Inspired by the beauty of the Australian outback, Seiko strums the right chord with the Alpinist Australasian. The desert in Australia is no joke, and its beauty is not to be messed with. This is summed up so nicely in the dry, burnt red/orange dial that replicates Australian earth, sun and rock with an ochre-like tone. Much like the dial, its box complements the distinctive dial with a similar, striking red.
This watch, however, is not just a pretty face. The watch features an impressive 70-hour power reserve, a 39.5mm stainless steel case and an exhibition case back, showing off the intricate movement. Like all other Alpinists, there is a built-in compass scale, Lumbrite hands and markers (for that extra readability), and a sapphire crystal with a reflective coating. In other words, you can navigate your way through the Australian outback with the Australasian Limited Edition.
