WHAT WE LOVE:
The Seikomatic 6206-8130 is a refined example of Seiko’s mid-1960s craftsmanship, embodying the brand’s dedication to precision and elegant design. Produced in 1966, this model is part of the esteemed Seikomatic Weekdater series, known for its innovative day-date complication and sophisticated aesthetics.
Encased in a 37mm stainless steel case with a screw-down back, the watch offers a balanced presence on the wrist. The grey sunburst dial is adorned with applied baton indices and dauphine hands. The day and date windows are thoughtfully positioned at 3 o'clock, with the day displayed in full, a feature that was quite advanced for its time. The watch is completed with a black leather strap, enhancing its classic look.
WHAT’S INSIDE:
Powering the timepiece is the automatic Caliber 6206A movement, featuring 26 jewels and operating at 18,000 vibrations per hour. This movement is celebrated for its reliability and was a significant advancement in Seiko’s mechanical watchmaking during that era.
