Quentin Tarantino is one of the most prolific movie buffs out there, and his ninth film 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood' is his love letter to the movies that shaped his style and taste. In the film, Brad Pitts character who appears to be modelled on Robert Redford (down to the haircut) wears a bright gold Citizen Bullhead chronograph on a leather bund strap cuff paying homage to the Doxa on bund strap worn by Redford in Three Days of the Condor. 

Following the release of the movie, prices for the vintage Citizen chronograph model worn by Pitt in the movie skyrocketed as a new collectable was born overnight. You can even purchase the same strap the watch was featured on in the movie for a cool $564 USD plus shipping.

Capitalising on the new awareness of the watch, Citizen did what all good for profit businesses should do and reissued the Bullhead in 2021, although curiously it was not a worldwide release but rather a model made for the Japanese Domestic Market only. Perhaps this decision was made to pay honour to another Tarantino film, where a young lady has to travel to Japan in order to purchase a very different piece of Japanese craftsmanship.
