WHAT WE LOVE:
We all know TAG is the true motorsports watch, and the Carrera Calibre 16 embodies this understanding. Right off the bat, there is a sporty look and feel to this watch, made for someone who is looking for a pop in their everyday outfit, or a conversation starter over dinner.
With the Carrera being such a luxury watch, TAG has delivered the functions, highlighted by a 3 Subdial Chronograph, Day and Date addition, 24-Hour Time and Tachymeter. One might worry that there is almost too much going on, but being 44mm, legibility and space on the dial are surprisingly good. The numerals are big, the hands are chunky, the day-date is a great size, and the white and red accents are nice and readable; the watch works well with its components.
Further, the Carrera 16 has an exhibition case-back, and nice chunky writing showing off its Swiss make, sapphire crystal and 100m water resistance. The steel bracelet is fine-brushed, with folding clasp push buttons.
WHAT'S INSIDE:
As stated in the title, the Carrera is run by the TAG Heuer Calibre 16, which is a modified ETA 7750, one of the most successful automatic chronograph movements ever made. It has a power reserve of 42 hours.
