WHAT WE LOVE:
The Lemania Royal Navy Chronograph Series III is one of the most collectible British military watches of the Cold War era. Issued under the reference 0552/924-3312, these were purpose-built, manually wound chronographs supplied to the Royal Navy, including its nuclear submarine crews, during the 1960s and 70s.
This particular example, numbered 80957, retains the original Royal Navy caseback engravings and features a clean, white asymmetrical case with a twin-register layout. The fixed bars, large luminous Arabic numerals, and high-legibility handset all speak to its utilitarian military origin — this is a true tool watch, built for mission-critical precision.
With its asymmetrical design and classic military chronograph layout, the Lemania Series III has inspired countless reissues and homages, but nothing compares to the history and wearability of the original.
WHAT’S INSIDE:
At its heart is the venerable Lemania Calibre 2220 — a manual-winding column wheel chronograph known for its robustness and reliability under pressure. Designed for accuracy and ease of servicing in the field, the movement features a 30-minute counter, central chronograph seconds, and hacking seconds for precise time setting.
