The Marathon Government Search and Rescue Standard Issue Type II is a purpose built professional dive watch with a heritage forged through real world Search and Rescue operations. Developed to Canadian Government requirements and trusted by elite Canadian and U.S. military personnel since the early 1990s, the GSAR has earned its reputation as one of Marathon's most iconic and respected tool watches. Built to perform in the harshest conditions, it combines uncompromising functionality with a rugged aesthetic that has made it highly sought after by both professionals and collectors.

Its highly legible black dial is designed for instant readability, featuring dual 12 and 24 hour scales, a practical date display, and self illuminating tritium gas tubes complemented by MaraGlo for exceptional visibility in darkness. Surrounding the dial is a fully hashed unidirectional 60 minute bezel for precise elapsed time tracking, while the brushed 316L stainless steel case measures 41mm and is paired with a durable rubber strap and a secure screw down crown. A sapphire crystal offers excellent scratch resistance, and with 300 metres of water resistance, the GSAR is engineered to perform with complete confidence whether on land, at sea, or beneath the surface.

Powering the GSAR is the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, equipped with an Incabloc shock absorber for enhanced durability. The movement features 26 jewels and delivers reliable, proven performance, making it an ideal companion for both professional use and everyday wear.
