WHAT WE LOVE:
The Seiko Rotocall SMGG19 marks the remarkable return of one of Seiko’s most inventive digital watches from the 1980s. Originally introduced in 1982, the Rotocall stood out as a technological marvel of its time. Its octagonal rotary bezel transformed the way wearers interacted with their watch, allowing seamless access to multiple functions with a simple turn. Loved by astronauts and collectors alike, this reborn edition celebrates that same spirit of innovation with a refined modern construction that stays true to the original’s bold identity.
The SMGG19 retains the distinctive eight-sided knurled bezel that made the original a cult favourite. Each side of the bezel is carefully labelled, making mode selection an intuitive and tactile experience. A gentle rotation in either direction reveals its diverse range of functions, from timekeeping and stopwatch to timer, dual time display, and daily alarms. The black and red bezel combination is striking, evoking the vintage aesthetic while delivering a crisp, contemporary look that complements the stainless steel case and bracelet.
The stainless steel body feels solid and purposeful, with every edge and surface precisely executed to highlight the watch’s geometric design. Its screw case back ensures durability, while a water resistance of 10 bar provides confidence for everyday wear. The three fold clasp with push button release offers security and comfort on the wrist, making the watch as practical as it is iconic. The proportions are balanced and wearable, capturing the perfect blend of vintage digital character and modern craftsmanship.
WHAT'S INSIDE:
