The Seiko Prospex SPB509J is a limited edition timepiece, with only 6,000 pieces released worldwide to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Seiko’s diver’s watch legacy. Inspired by the iconic 1968 diver’s watch, it combines heritage design with a modern GMT function and a striking blue dial inspired by ocean waves and the distinctive Prospex wave mark. The rich blue dial reflects Seiko’s deep sea heritage and decades of innovation in professional dive watchmaking.
Designed for serious diving and everyday wear, the SPB509J features a stainless steel case and bracelet with a super hard coating, offering exceptional resilience with a refined finish. The sapphire crystal has an anti reflective coating on the inner surface for excellent visibility in bright conditions and underwater. A screw down crown and screw case back support 300m water resistance, while Lumibrite hands and indexes provide excellent legibility in low light.
The redesigned clasp provides a 15mm adjustment range in six 2.5mm increments, allowing the bracelet to adapt comfortably to changes in wrist size caused by wetsuits or temperature. WHAT'S INSIDE:
At the heart of the SPB509J is the Seiko Calibre 6R54, a precise automatic movement designed for reliable, long lasting performance. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, or 6 beats per second, it provides an impressive 72 hour power reserve. The GMT function features an independently adjustable 24 hour hand, allowing a second time zone to be tracked without interrupting the main timekeeping.
