WHAT WE LOVE:
The Tissot V8 takes its name from the eight-cylinder racing engine and makes no attempt to hide its motorsport inspiration — the dashboard-style dial layout, the tachymeter bezel scale, and the three-register chronograph configuration are all drawn directly from the instrument panel aesthetic that defined racing-inspired watchmaking from the 1960s onward. It is a design brief executed with real conviction and without the usual Swiss restraint, and the result is a watch that occupies its 42.5mm case with confidence.
The black dial carries the V8's characteristic instrument cluster layout: the three chronograph sub-registers arranged at 9, 6, and 3 o'clock against a black ground, framed by the outer minute track and the tachymeter scale on the fixed bezel. The skeleton sword-shaped hands with their luminous fill provide legibility against the black surface, and the date window at 6 o'clock sits within the lower sub-dial without crowding it. The stainless steel bracelet with its polished and brushed links closes with a deployment clasp and suits the V8's sport-luxury character appropriately. At 11.22mm thick with 100-metre water resistance, this is a well-specified Swiss quartz chronograph at a price that competes with nothing at comparable specification.

The T106.417.11.051.00 is powered by the ETA Calibre G10.212 — a Swiss quartz chronograph movement delivering 1/10th second timing resolution across three sub-dials: the central 60-second chronograph hand, 30-minute counter at 9 o'clock, and 1/10th second counter at 3 o'clock. The movement also features ADD and SPLIT functions for lap timing, an end-of-life battery indicator, and date display.
