When Rolex introduced the new colour palette for the Oyster Perpetual 41 in 2020, the Bright Blue was the dial that generated the most immediate and sustained collector interest — and it has held that position consistently since. The reason is simple: the blue sunray dial, produced by a radial brushing technique that creates directional grooves running outward from the centre before the colour is applied, changes character entirely depending on the angle of light. Head-on in bright light it is a vivid, almost electric blue; in lower light or at an angle it deepens toward a richer tone. It is a dial that earns continued attention in a way that flat-lacquered surfaces do not.
