WHAT WE LOVE:
The 116710LN was the first stainless steel GMT-Master II to receive a full ceramic Cerachrom bezel, introduced in 2007 and produced continuously until approximately 2018. The all-black ceramic bezel was a deliberate choice that reads with a solidity and depth that the aluminium bezels of earlier generations could not achieve. The green GMT hand is the single point of colour on this watch, and it earns the "Green Arrow" nickname entirely on the strength of that one detail.
Discontinued in 2018 when Rolex replaced it with the Bruce Wayne, the 116710LN has immediately developed the cult following that typically follows a clean, well-specified Rolex reference when production ends. The black dial, Chromalight lume, the Oyster bracelet, and the case that collectors now recognise as one of the cleaner GMT proportions Rolex has produced in the modern era are all correct. This example presents complete with its box and papers and its original purchase receipt.
WHAT'S INSIDE
The 116710LN is powered by Rolex's Calibre 3186 — a 31-jewel automatic movement with Parachrom blue hairspring, 48-hour power reserve, and Superlative Chronometer certification to ±2 seconds per day post-casing. The 3186 predates the Chronergy escapement of the 3285 and carries a slightly shorter power reserve, but the core movement architecture is established and proven across a decade of production. The GMT function tracks a second time zone via the independent 24-hour hand against the bidirectional black Cerachrom bezel. Water resistance is 100 metres via the Triplock screw-down crown.
