The Longines Legend Diver is a faithful recreation of the brand's 1960s professional dive watch — a reference that Longines has maintained in the catalogue since reintroducing it in 2007, continually updating its technical specification while preserving the original's visual character. The defining feature of the Legend Diver is its inner rotating bezel. The Legend Diver's elapsed-time scale sits on a rotating ring inside the crystal, set by the secondary crown at 2 o'clock. This arrangement was originally specified to protect the bezel mechanism from accidental rotation and external damage during diving operations — a genuinely practical solution to a real problem, and one that gives the watch its immediately recognisable face when viewed from above.

The blue gradient dial — deepening from a vibrant mid-blue toward a rich midnight at the edges — visible through the broad domed crystal is the configuration that most rewards looking at directly. The luminous stick markers and Arabic numerals at 12, 6, 9 and 3 are loaded with Super-LumiNova, and the broad-tipped luminous hands provide the underwater legibility the original was designed for. The outer casebody's curved surface, the pusher-crown configuration on the case's left side, and the inner rotating bezel scale combine into a design package that is a cohesive homage.
