WHAT WE LOVE:
The Formex Reef Chronometer Dive blends professional dive capability with refined Swiss watchmaking. The dial immediately captures attention with its rich sunray finish and hand sprayed gradient, produced at Formex’s in house dial manufacture in the Jura mountains. Bold rehaut style hour markers are hand applied in triangular form, guiding the eye toward the broad hour and minute hands with polished bevels and brushed surfaces. Both hands and markers are generously filled with Swiss Super LumiNova BGW9, together with the capsule on the bezel zero marker, producing a long lasting blue glow for excellent visibility in dark conditions.
Framing the dial is a unidirectional rotating bezel crafted from extremely hard zirconium oxide ceramic. Its numerals and graduations are engraved using precise femto laser pulsations, creating a distinctive three dimensional effect. The 120 click action is smooth yet precise, while the gear shaped edge provides excellent grip when setting dive timing. The bezel can also be changed without tools, allowing the watch to easily take on a different character.
The 42mm stainless steel 316L case offers a confident yet balanced presence suitable for both underwater exploration and everyday wear. A screw down crown and water resistance of 300 metres reinforce its credentials as a serious dive instrument. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, while the bracelet or rubber strap features a patented micro adjustment clasp and a quick release system that allows straps to be changed without tools.
