WHAT WE LOVE:
The Aquadive × Poseidon Bathysphere 1000m GMT is a collaboration between two of diving's most historically significant names. Aquadive produced some of the earliest 1,000-metre rated dive watches in the 1960s, alongside an integrated depth gauge that made it the choice of serious explorers during the era when deep diving was being established as both a sport and a profession. Poseidon Diving Systems is the Swedish manufacturer that introduced the first single-hose regulator — a fundamental advancement in breathing equipment that opened recreational diving to a far wider range of participants — and whose trident logo and black-and-yellow colour signature have been immediately recognisable in the diving community for decades.
The Bathysphere 1000m GMT is built to a specification that most dive watches at any price point do not achieve: 1,000 metres of water resistance via dual Viton gaskets in the crown and caseback, a 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel with ceramic timing ring and fully luminous markers, and the ETA 2893-2 GMT movement providing a yellow arrow second time zone hand that tracks against the yellow and black 24-hour inner flange. Aquadive adjusted this movement across five positions before delivery — an unusual specification for a watch at this price and limited edition scale. The ISOfrane rubber strap, designed to wear over a wetsuit, is the correct companion for a watch rated to this depth. Limited to 300 pieces.
