WHAT WE LOVE:
The Longines Conquest has one of the more distinguished histories in Swiss watchmaking at this price point. When the name was first registered with the Swiss Federal Intellectual Property Office in 1954, it became the first Longines collection to be officially protected — a signal that the brand considered it something worth defending. Seventy years on, the Conquest remains in production, and the current 38mm generation is arguably its most refined expression yet.
The L3.720.4.92.6 in sunray blue gives the watch a depth and visual interest that a flat dial never quite achieves, and the blue tone itself occupies that ideal middle ground between the formality of navy and the casualness of light blue. Against the silver-tone applied stick markers and luminous hands, the combination is both sharp and warm, and the date display at 6 o'clock sits neatly within the composition rather than intruding on it.
The 38mm case size is well-considered. Small enough to feel refined and unimposing, large enough to carry the design with confidence — it is the size that genuinely works across the broadest range of wrist sizes and wear contexts. The stainless steel bracelet with its polished centre links and brushed outer links is executed to a standard that reflects Longines' positioning at the upper end of accessible Swiss watchmaking.
WHAT’S INSIDE:
The L3.720.4.92.6 is powered by the Longines Calibre L888 — a high-performance automatic movement based on the ETA A31.L11 architecture, featuring a monocrystalline silicon balance spring.
