Rather than hands sweeping a flat dial, the Le Dome uses two CNC-machined 3D rotating domes to display the time: a rotating hour dome at the upper register showing the numeral of the current hour, and a rotating minute dome at the lower register showing the current minute. Both domes are machined on 5-axis CNC equipment from a single piece of metal, their interiors carrying a guilloché pattern that refracts light through the double-domed sapphire crystal above in a way that changes as the light angle changes.
