More than 50,000 people participated. After multiple rounds of voting, the winner was the ref. 2446 Jochen Rindt — the tricompax Autavia worn by the Austrian Formula 1 World Champion, who died at Monza in 1970 still holding the championship lead. The CBE2110, released the following year, was the direct result of that vote. It is the watch that the collecting community asked for, built around the movement that TAG Heuer had been developing specifically for this relaunch.

The black opaline dial is a faithful interpretation of the original — four applied index markers, Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9, and three symmetrically positioned white sub-dials at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock for the 30-minute counter, small seconds, and 12-hour counter respectively. The tricompax layout — all three sub-dials at the same size, evenly spaced — is the detail that distinguishes the Autavia from the more common bi-compax and sub-dial-at-12 configurations, and that gives the dial its balanced, classical motorsport chronograph character.

The bidirectional rotating bezel with its black aluminium insert and Arabic numeral 60-minute scale is the Autavia's defining external feature, referencing the original dashboard timer from which the wristwatch evolved. On a brown aged calfskin strap it has the immediate warmth and character of a vintage racing watch — which is precisely what it is designed to evoke.

WHAT’S INSIDE:

The CBE2110 is powered by the Calibre Heuer 02 — TAG Heuer's in-house automatic chronograph movement, developed specifically for the Autavia re-edition and now used across multiple references in the TAG Heuer collection. Comprising 33 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it features a column-wheel actuation and a vertical clutch system — two quality indicators that distinguish serious chronograph movements from their cam-controlled alternatives, providing more precise and more tactile engagement with each push of the single pusher.

FIVEFORTYFIVE SIX MONTHS WARRANTY

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0072/5332/7960/files/Heuer-2022-Autavia-Re-Edition-CBE2110244231-7.jpg?v=1780464036
