WHAT WE LOVE:
The Heuer Autavia GMT 11630 is one of the standout vintage GMT chronographs of the 1970s — a watch that captures the spirit of jet age adventure, F1 racing, and bold industrial design. Part of the third generation of Autavia models, this reference combines a cushion-shaped case, rotating 24-hour bezel, and the now-iconic red GMT hand, all while retaining the functionality of a true automatic chronograph.
The 42mm stainless steel case is chunky and purposeful, with a pvd-coated bidirectional bezel featuring the classic blue-and-red “Pepsi” GMT scale. The matte black dial is defined by contrasting white sub-dials, blocky lume plots, and red accents — a layout that maximises legibility while delivering serious vintage charm.
WHAT'S INSIDE:
Powering the watch is the legendary Caliber 14, an evolution of the original Chronomatic movement jointly developed by Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton-Buren, and Dubois Dépraz. It features a left-hand crown, modular GMT complication, and an integrated chronograph mechanism with 30-minute and 12-hour counters. The GMT hand is independently adjustable via the 24-hour bezel.
